Thomas Adès Recital

Composer, director, pianist, but also professor, Thomas Adès performs not two, but four roles. Scholarly and expressive, his music hypnotizes and makes references to the past through its constructions and citations.

Adès approaches the rondo of Couperin, the ragtime of Stravinsky, the energetic and grating Prokofiev, but also the Czech Janácek for his bohemian impressionism and his forays into popular music. Carte blanche to get to know Adès, the complete musician, better.

  • François Couperin Les barricades mystérieuses; Les tours de passe-passe
  • Sergueï Prokofiev Sarcasmes
  • Leoš Janácek Along an Overgrown Path - Book 2; In the Mists
  • Thomas Adès Mazurkas, opus 27; Concert Paraphrase on Powder Her Face
  • Igor Stravinsky Piano-Rag-Music
