Opening
Launch of ManiFeste-2012 and portrait of Philippe Manoury with the premiere of Echo-Diamónon.
Surrounded by the Orchestre de Paris, the soloist Jean-Frédéric Neuburger is prompted and solicited by four virtual pianos. This vast concerto establishes the growing ambiguity between a real performer and phantom pianos. Another master of illusion and continuum, Ligeti, opens both chapters of this evening and touches Mahler's final work, his tenth symphony. The initial Adagio retains the facets that continue to fascinate today's artists; amplitude of the form, of the expression, and of the phrase, the irreversibility of the trajectory, the integration and disintegration of the harmony, the supreme art of "taking leave" without resigning oneself to finality.
